Visual Experimentation with Identity.
Overview
Collaboration project with one of the great designers/animators I know, Jason Fang.
This project is a visual experimentation on how identity reacts to different contexts. Location, light, and music were used as variables to show how it reacts to each other. Both the animation and music style was chosen differently to match each context.
Created: 2020
It started out as a simple idea of imaging how the future implemented with Augmented Reality will look like. But as we dove into the project direction we developed the concept to something more than envisioning the future. We wanted to tell a small story of how a identity will react to different environment.
Before we went to film the footage, we decided on the locations we wanted to try and created a storyboard for each scene. We first wanted to use a symbol that can unify the whole film but changed it to an orb since it was more straightforward and easier to follow along as a viewer.
