Visual Experimentation with Identity
reAct
CONCEPTUAL
MOTION
Collaboration project with one of the great designer/animator I know, Jason Fang.
reAct is a narrative-driven motion study exploring how identity reacts, adapts, and shifts when placed in different environments. Rather than presenting a fixed character or outcome, the work focuses on response,
how form, movement, and behavior change based on surrounding conditions.
The narrative unfolds through motion, not explanation.

Process
It began as a simple idea imagining how a future shaped by augmented reality might look. As the direction evolved, the focus shifted away from speculation and toward storytelling, exploring how identity reacts and adapts when placed in different environments.
Before filming, we selected locations deliberately and developed storyboards for each scene to define the narrative flow. An early concept used a unifying symbol across the film, but this was later refined into an orb. The change simplified the visual language and made the progression easier to follow, allowing the viewer to focus on the narrative rather than decoding symbolism.
